Happy Monday. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to those who replied to my IG post on the day I was recording two weeks ago. In this episode, I will be addressing one of the questions that was raised:
There's a saying in the advertising world that resonates deeply: "You're only as good as your last ad." In this week's episode, I take a moment to reflect on my professional journey. One of the pivotal moments in my career was when I received recognition from the Art Director's Club in New York City for a thought-provoking piece on a police shooting. It was during this time that I truly realized my potential. I also discuss a campaign I worked on at Ogilvy called "Where To Do Your Best Thinking," featuring the ThinkPad. While I'm not sure if it qualifies as a hit, it laid the groundwork for future notable projects and allowed me to collaborate with remarkable individuals.
From working with photojournalist Ron Haviv and following influential figures like Andre Balazs, the owner of the Standard Hotels, and Keith McNally, a renowned restaurateur, it was a unique experience of capturing moments and crafting narratives using the ThinkPad.
Throughout the episode, I touch on the turning points in my career, particularly when I launched Kanon and embraced community building and long-term brand narratives. It has been a journey of growth, creativity, and understanding the impact of my work beyond immediate campaigns.
I wanted to share these stories as a source of inspiration and encouragement for your own creative endeavors. It serves as a reminder of the power of collaboration, the joy of adventure, and the defining moments that shape our paths.
If you find the episode intriguing, please feel free to share it with others who might benefit from its message. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and if there are any specific topics or stories you'd like me to explore in future episodes. Also if you haven’t seen the past episodes check them out »>.
Thank you for being a part of the Casual Mondays community."
